What the pills mean
These labels help you time and manage short-duration opportunities. They are not guarantees.
S (1–10) — Edge quality
Combines participation (RelVol), momentum, regime, and freshness.
Freshness = how close you are to the ENTRY moment (earlier > later). Late entries have higher chase risk.
• 9–10 = strongest opportunity
• 7–8 = valid, be selective
• ≤6 = weaker / fading
SIZE
Suggested exposure based on S (risk-based):
• FULL (S≥9), 80% (8), 60% (7), 40% (6), 25% (5)
• NO (≤4) = informational only
ADVANTAGE TIME
Estimated remaining statistical edge before conditions usually weaken.
Short time → act faster or skip.
ENTRY / IN PLAY (Timing)
• ENTRY / STRONG ENTRY = best timing window (confirmed edge now)
• IN PLAY = it already triggered; manage if you’re in — don’t chase new entries
• FORMING = conditions building; wait for confirmation
• NO EDGE = no measurable advantage right now
Market Regime (what the tag means)
TREND
Price is moving with direction and participation. Signals are more likely to continue.
• How to use it: entries can be held a bit longer; pullbacks are normal.
FADE
A “stretch” move that often snaps back toward VWAP / mean. Signals are shorter-lived and more tactical.
• How to use it: quicker entries/exits, smaller size, avoid chasing late.
CHOP
No clean edge — price is rotating, often around VWAP. Signals are lower quality and prone to whipsaw.
• How to use it: usually skip; wait for TREND or a clear FADE setup.
Rule of thumb:
TREND = continuation, FADE = snapback, CHOP = skip.
HOLD UNTIL (Management guide)
Options can dip before the move confirms. In testing, it’s common to see temporary pullbacks around -10% to -30% shortly after an ENTRY / STRONG ENTRY before reversing positive.
This is not a target — it’s “normal heat” when the setup is still valid.
Hard floor (risk cap)
• If the position goes beyond roughly -30%, exit. Don’t hold and hope.
• Also exit if the reason you entered no longer holds (ex: VWAP reclaim fails, breakout level breaks, momentum dies).
Don’t chase
• If a ticker is in IN PLAY, it already triggered. Manage existing trades, but avoid late entries.
